Bathers n Bikkies Tee x Georgia Wilsher

Grab a cuppa and a bikkie and have a read about our latest tee drop.

Aussie slang is something that has weaved itself into my vocab arguably a little too much. This, combined with a terrible habit of mumbling, often leaves many asking for subtitles.
Anyway, now if you’re scratching your head and wondering where the subtitles button is, fear not. Here in Aus we tend to shorten words and simply make up words all together. Let's talk about two quintessentially Aussie terms: Bathers and Bikkies. Bathers simply means swimwear (ya Winki!) and the term bikkies affectionately describes the ole staple biscuit (scotch fingers are a personal preference IYKYK).
Now put these two icons together and you’ve got yourself the ideal arvo and the perfect tee. Who doesn't want to wear a tee with a 1950's lady holding her giant scotch finger biscuit surfboard? She also gives nostalgic memories of those vintage Arnott’s biscuit tins you’d see at Grandma’s.
This ethically made organic cotton tee reminds us to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, whether it be a dip in the ocean or a cuppa in the sun with Grandma. It is your daily reminder to appreciate the little things and find joy in the everyday.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AS AN ARTIST?

I’ve been drawing my whole life I love creating things and I love sketching, I love, just sitting in different places and drawing buildings or people or landscapes or things from nature.

WHERE DO YOU DRAW INSPIRATION FOR YOUR ART?

I think my inspiration comes from a lot of different places whether it be nature or people or different ideas that pop into my head, sometimes they are beautiful or sad, or moody. I think that my art is not one style necessarily. I do prefer sketching but how it is presented is different depending on what’s going on in my mind and heart at the time.

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME OUTSIDE OF WORK?

I LOVE adventuring, climbing mountains, skiing, surfing, diving, fishing on the tinnie, camping, drawing, spending time with my family and friends. Life is so good it's always filled with something wonderful!

THE BLESSED PROJECT

100% of our apparel is ethically made in a small rural town in the Philippines, by a beautiful group of women who are survivors of human trafficking. We've worked with the Blessed Project since the beginning of Winki and we are so grateful for this partnership. You'll notice a special touch this season on the inside of our tees. They have sewn in a handmade tag with the name of the women who made your sweatshirt. We thought it was a beautiful way for you to connect with your maker and read about their story. Find our Meet Your Maker page here.

Through The Blessed Project provides women with an income, a new skill and it is also used as a form of therapy while they decide what they want to do in life. Many of the women decide to go to university and school, while some continue to sew as their main source of income! You can read more about our makers here.

As always, thanks for the continued love and support of this lil dream of ours.
