The Mermaid Brigade Tee & Cap

Introducing the Mermaid Brigade drop -  an oversized tee & vintage-inspired cap. This drop is for everyone who feels at home by the sea — a community of ocean lovers who chase the sun. Featuring artwork by Juliana Bridi, our new tee is all about colour, comfort, and community. It comes in a new oversized, relaxed fit that’s perfect for layering over swimmers or your favourite pants. Paired with our new vintage-washed red cap, it’s the go-to look for sun-soaked days.

As always, our tees are ethically made in a small rural town in the Philippines, by a beautiful group of women who are survivors of human trafficking. We've worked with the Blessed Project since the beginning of Winki and we are so grateful for this partnership.

 ABOUT THE ARTIST

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOUR JOURNEY AS AN ARTIST?
I’m a senior brand designer with a focus on visual identity, storytelling, illustration, and digital campaigns. I’ve been working in creative roles for over 10 years, across Brazil, the U.S. and Australia. It all started pretty early for me—back in school, my favourite thing was making poster presentations. While everyone else rushed through them, I’d spend hours on the layout, colours, and little details. Looking back, that was probably the first sign that design was going to be a big part of my life. I’ve always been drawn to design that feels both smart and simple—something that looks good but also makes sense and connects with people.

WHERE DO YOU DRAW YOUR INSPIRATION FROM?
Mostly from real life—travel, surfing, being outside, meeting people. I think being out in the world and paying attention to small things is what fuels my creativity the most.

HOW DO YOU SPEND YOUR FREE TIME?
I spend a lot of time in the ocean—mostly surfing—or just tinkering with small creative projects, like making art for friends or fixing up things around the house. I’ve also got a super energetic Kelpie, so a good chunk of my time goes into keeping her entertained.

ABOUT THE MAKERS

Our tees are ethically made in a small rural town in the Philippines, by a beautiful group of women who are survivors of human trafficking. We've worked with the Blessed Project since the beginning of Winki and we are so grateful for this partnership.

You'll notice a special touch on the inside of our tees. They have sewn in a handmade tag with the name of the women who made your sweatshirt. We thought it was a beautiful way for you to connect with your maker and read about their story. Find our Meet Your Maker page here

As always, thank you for your continued love and support of this lil biz.
